Summary of Incident from OP Skjadoon I am reporting a severe security failure involving the exchange service Exolix , which resulted in a financial loss of $11,000 . Due to an internal error, Exolix inadvertently sent me funds that were flagged as stolen and linked to a phishing scam (verified via Etherscan).

The receiving exchange subsequently froze these assets. Despite Exolix admitting full responsibility for the error, they have refused to provide a viable resolution, creating an impossible situation where I am expected to return assets I cannot access.

Incident Details

CategoryDetails
PlatformExolix
Amount Lost$11,000 USD
Asset TypeXMR (Monero)
StatusFunds frozen by a secondary platform
IssueReceipt of "tainted" coins due to internal exchange error

Current Status and Exolix’s Stance

  • The Error: Exolix acknowledged the error was on their part.
  • The Demand: They have requested the return of the "stolen" coins as a condition for a replacement.
  • The Obstacle: The coins are marked as Phishing_scam on Etherscan and have been frozen by the receiving platform, making it legally and technically impossible for them to comply with their demand.
  • Communication: Exolix’s final response was: "Unfortunately, I cannot help you. It was our mistake, and we regret it, but I can't help you."

Recommendation Avoid using Exolix. This platform has demonstrated a significant lack of accountability and professional support when handling critical AML-related errors. They have admitted fault but refuse to provide a resolution, leaving users to bear the financial consequences of their operational failures.
